This activity takes place on 1 day

This activity is an introduction in discovery and in crop of wild eatable mushrooms present in our fields and woods.  Recognize eatable mushrooms and their poisonous look-alike using identification keys to differentiate different mushrooms types: with blades (amanitas, milk cap, tricholomes, agarics etc), with pores (boletuses, polypores), and with creases (chanterelles etc). To recognize main soils and trees which favour their presence. Bring backpack, basket and paper towels, and closed shoes. In case of rain: boots and raincoat.

Fernand Miron

In 2007, Mr. Fernand Miron, renowned mycologist and founder of the Laurentien Mushrooms Inc., Berry (Abitibi), was present to assist in the identification and also for us to taste mushrooms from his cultures. He accepted our invitation for the next activity in 2008.
